"There is no doubt that Garibaldi's romantic career in a lifelong fight for freedom was born of a liking for the fray, to express it bluntly, with freedom as a convenient excuse. This sounds unkind, but it is not. Garibaldi loved peace so much that he was willing to fight for it any day."

Thankful. Mos Def.

This year, I am thankful for many things!

My dad made it through a kidney transplant and a heart attack.

My nephew, Caelen Gage Lunetta, was born healthy and beautiful!

OBAMA WON.

I am going to the Inauguration to celebrate with so many of my friends!

My brother Robby returned from Afghanistan safely and, though he was redeployed and is there now, he is SAFE.

I adopted Scout Finch, and her snuggles and love affair with baby bottle nipples makes me laugh.

I have the most BEAUTIFUL, intelligent, caring, sensitive, educated, strong, and hilariously silly women as my close, adored friends.

I got to see Shayna, Clare, Audrey, and Colin celebrate their love!

I lost 15 pounds.

My sister graduates from college this year. I am so proud of her!

I met Noam, and Real ID was defeated in Arizona.

Ward Connerly and his bullshit attempts to end affirmative action in Arizona were defeated.

I have a great job with one of my favorite organizations.

I have a cute, reliable, and fuel efficient car.

I learned how to stand on my own two feet [even though most of the time it feels like hopping on just one].

We won marriage equality is California, even if it was for just six precious months.

I learned how to make tamales, and they were delicious.

I have met some pretty cool, progressive, and hilarious people in Arizona!

I have friends who still love me even when they see me cry.

I had a really fun week in D.C. with Iris on the ACLU's dime!

I discovered the music of Andrew Bird.

I have been introduced to Buddhist principals, and I learned how to meditate.

I learned that I should never again date a fighter pilot.

The fuel prices have lowered.

I met and domesticated Gray Cat, Scout's BFF.

Felicity and I called a truce, and we've been friends (again) for a year now! Whooo!
